Atlantic Spice Company Inc. of North Truro, MA, is recalling it’s 16 ounce packages of Sunflower Seeds Roasted Salted, Tropical Mix and Cranberry Health Mix snacks because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeriainfection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The recalled snacks were distributed locally in our retail store and nationally through mail orders.
The product comes in a 16 ounce, clear plastic package marked with lot numbers (listed below) on the bottom right and with the numbers 15 and 11 at the top right.

Three Spartan Fresh Selections cheesecakes may have contained undeclared peanut residue
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – Kellogg Company is voluntarily recalling certain graham crumbs because they were made using Grain Craft flour which may have contained undeclared allergen peanut residue. To date, there have been no reported illnesses related to the affected product. The affected graham cracker crumbs were used in certain lots of cheesecakes produced in SpartanNash’s Central Kitchen facility. The items had a sell by date of June 6-21, 2016, and they are no longer in the stores.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers. Consumers with severe peanut allergies should avoid the recalled products.

Snyder’s-Lance, Inc. is issuing a voluntary recall for certain code dates of their Lance brand Oyster Crackers. This action is the direct result of a recent recall by the wheat flour supplier, Grain Craft, due to certain lots of flour that may contain low levels of undeclared peanut residue. The Oyster Crackers subject to the recall may have been produced using the recalled flour and, as a result, this product may contain low levels of undeclared peanut residue. No other Lance crackers are affected by this recall.
While those who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume products containing peanut allergens, the FDA has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from use of the flours and affected products is considered to be low and not expected to cause adverse reactions in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers.
Although the company has received no reports of related illness to date it is taking this action out of an abundance of caution.
This product is sold through Food Service channels and is distributed nationwide to restaurants and other institutions.

Seattle, WA – National Frozen Foods Corporation is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of Not-Ready-To Eat frozen green peas and frozen mixed vegetables because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeriainfection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Following cooking preparation instructions on the labels will effectively reduce the risk of exposure to this bacterium.
This press release does not include recalled products distributed to food service accounts in bulk containers and recalled products distributed to food service accounts in Canada and Japan.
The frozen green peas and frozen mixed vegetables are being recalled as a precaution with the health and safety of consumers as top priority. The recall was the result of a sample tested by the company which revealed that the finished products may potentially be contaminated with the bacteria. The Food and Drug Administration has been made aware of this recall. There have been no reported illnesses attributed to the recalled items to date.
The products being recalled listed below were distributed in retail stores nationwide between September 2, 2015 and June 2, 2016.

Byron, Calif. – Marin Foods Specialties, Inc. is recalling packaged raw macadamia nuts sold in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington Whole Foods Market stores due to possible Salmonella contamination. Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected withSalmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
The product was labeled as “Whole Foods Market Raw Macadamia Nuts” and was packaged in 6 oz clear plastic tubs. The recalled products have “best by” dates of 8/21/16 through 11/6/16, and a UPC code of 99948200132. The product was distributed only to Whole Foods Market stores in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.
Based upon routine testing conducted by an FDA-contracted laboratory, it was determined that the raw macadamia nuts products tested positive for Salmonella.
Customers who have purchased this product at Whole Foods Market stores in the affected states should discard it and may bring in their receipt for a full refund.

Kansas City, KS – Tippin’s Gourmet Pies, LLC today is voluntarily recalling select Key Lime Pies because they may contain flour with undeclared peanut residue. Tippin’s initiated the recall after we became aware that our supplier, Kellogg Company, was conducting a recall of graham cracker crumbs because they may contain undeclared peanut residue. The graham cracker crumbs were used to make the crust for our Key Lime Pies identified below.

Dutch Treat Foods, Inc., of Zeeland, MI, is voluntarily recalling 3087 pounds of Sweet Pea Pasta Salad due to one ingredient in the product being recalled by one of its suppliers. The product is being recalled due to the potential of being contaminated with listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women. There have been no reported illnesses to date associated with this product.
This recall is due to J.R. Simplot Co. (Simplot), of Boise, ID, recalling select products having the potential of being contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. The potential contamination did not originate at the Dutch Treat Foods facility.
The recalled Sweet Pea Pasta Salad was sold bulk in 10 pound cases (2 five pound bags) to two distributors in Michigan, Lipari Foods and Sysco Grand Rapids, under the Dutch Treat Foods label. It was also sold in retail stores in Michigan and directly from the Dutch Treat Foods facility in bulk 10 pound cases, 2 pound containers, and 14 ounce containers under the Dutch Treat Foods label.
The recalled product has “USE BY” dates of 06/09/16 through 07/01/16.
The distributor and retail stores have been contacted and instructed to remove any product from their shelves and to dispose of any remaining product in their inventory.

Consumers are warned  not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. Botulism, a potentially  fatal form of food poisoning,  can  cause  the following  symptoms:  general  weakness,  dizziness,  double­ vision and trouble with speaking or swallowing.
